:cheer:

Totally drained after yesterday. LA had agreed to AS specialist school in part 4 (which took a year as statement said mainstream). Also specified transition plan to be made by Oct. LA paid special school for the past year without actually specifying what they expected in terms of assessments etc. I feel annoyed that the LA can pay out money to school and then employ solicitors just to get written in the statement what they should have put in a year ago. Not totally wasted as no more threat of 'he is not worth it' due to his social withdrawal and withdraw the place especially as was not on statement. Also says may have extended education past 18 years due to lost years if son wants to do that. Not sure if this makes sense but needed to express my mixed feelings. Glad we can finally get on with life. Feeling happily deflated. :celebrate:

Good advice. When you have been battling for so long it takes a bit of adjustment. Actually looking forward to the summer holidays as no stress of constant cajoling.

That is brilliant news.
We were lucky that our LEA backed down at the threat of tribunal but even that left me totally drained so I can only imagine how you feel.

Nothing quite prepares you for the come-down after 'winning' Tribunal, does it? (Our LEA backed down with half a day to go.)

Take it easy now, and enjoy your summer.

Thank you everyone for their advice and support.

Knowing you are not alone and reassurance that you should not have to change yourself or your child to fit in a system that refuses to recognise difference and be inclusive has kept me sane.
