Well done to your DS frantic-mum. Did he enjoy watching any of the swimming Olympic events (just on TV I mean). Maybe he was inspired :-)

Just like to add something to this thread....

My lovely 11 year old DD recently did her SATs and I had a proud mummy moment as she got Level 5's in them :-)

he watched some of the swimming and some of the diving, and he said that he would like to learn to dive like that, and he may get an opportunity to learn through his school.

Had to post as so proud of my NT son today. He played in his first ever league match in football for his under 10s side (he is 8 so playing up anyway). Well not only did the team play brilliantly and win convincingly but he got man of the match as voted by the opposing team! He's been through so much and is under TAHMs himself as he can't cope with his brother so this was a fantastic result all round

Ben had an interview this morning for a much wanted promotion, he phoned to say it had gone well and then phoned an hour later to say he'd accepted and he starts next Monday.

I'm really pleased for him and he'll love the pay rise as well.

Ben's student he tutored for maths has phoned him today to say he got his grade C so is very happy. His mum (Ben's colleague) is delighted as he was predicted a D/E by the school previously which made her enlist Ben's help.

Ben said he has never been so nervous about a maths exam before because he'd have felt guilty for being paid if he hadn't got the result.

My son has just received 2 conditional offers for university to study either a BSc(Hons) degree for Game Software and Development or Game Design,  he only needs to get 1 B for his highers which he is sitting in the summer (fingers and toes crossed).

We are so excited for him as he has done himself proud.  He has only been receiving the extra support from school for the last 3 years and it has definitely paid off.

I am in total awe of him for what he has been through and I have always worried about his future, but this has now put a positive spin on it  :D

Another proud mamma checking in. My eldest's educational career has had a few slips and trips along the way. He has a dyspraxia diagnosis, was never well supported at school and contrived to drift along in the "we all know he's underachieving, but he's not bad enough to get our attention" category. When he started at Sixth Form he was simply not equipped to cope with the immediate pressure of A-Level study and dropped out after six weeks. He took a year out, then went to our local FE college  and is now in the second year of a BTEC in Applied Science.

We heard today that he has three university offers to study Chemistry; at Lancaster, Manchester and Liverpool :D

Just to say that RHY has secured his place at Surrey to study Mathematics. That was where he really wanted to go, so we're all thrilled for him. xx
