I've received the tribunal hearing directions this morning and our hearing is not until October.

We are appealing the local authority's plans to cease the statement at the end of the summer term.

What happens between the two dates? Does his statement stay in place til the hearing and therefore his placement? I had assumed it would be heard before the holidays :/

For a 'cease to maintain' appeal, it looks like the statement stays in place until the Tribunal makes a decision.

IPSEA says

If the local authority decides to cease to maintain the child’s statement.
The Tribunal may dismiss the appeal, or order the local authority to continue to maintain the statement either in its existing form or with amendments. For this appeal, the local authority must maintain the statement until the Tribunal makes a decision or you withdraw your appeal.
