Ds1 is LAC, and his Eater holidays were planned: week 1 at first grandparents ,week 2 at school (holiday cover), 1/2 week 3 at second grandparents.

That is until we had an email today from SW saying they had cancelled week 2 at school in the middle. This turned out to be on the strength of the first grandparents being pressured to do a few extra days. They hadn't even spoken to the second grandparents. That assumption was pretty bad, but if they had spoken to the second grandparents, they would have discovered that my mum had been taken to hospital last night (still there), and they now don't want to commit to caring for ds1 until they know more. Uncertainty isn't going to help ds1. The first grandparents will probably feel morally obliged to do too much etc etc. Social work are unbelievable sometimes.

Aaarrrggghhhh.

Social worker emailed this morning to say grandparents "wanted" to offer care for whole holiday. This was not the impression I got from the several phone calls with the grandparents this morning. It was because they felt morally obliged because there was no other alternative. (Thanks to social worker's cancellation). Social Worker's email from a week ago said ds1 had chosen school over extra time with other grandparents!
