Thought it would be a good idea to post a thread where we can list events that are happening across the country that people might be interested in. These can range from small local events and coffee mornings, to big national conferences.

If you hear of one, could you PM any mod or admin with the information and (if possible) a link to more information about it online. We'll then add the information to the thread here.

If you want to discuss any of the events, please open a new topic. I'll keep this thread locked, so it's just information that appears here.

Workshops for children with a diagnosis of Aspergers or HF ASD aged 12 to 15 years. It is on from Sat 1st to Sat 8th August

Kidz Kingdom have partnered with the NAS & are hosting a monthly social evening for families with children on the autistic spectrum. The evenings are a private and exclusive use of Kidz Kingdom in an aim to create a fun and non judgemental environment. The first event is to be held on Weds 5th August at 6.30pm to 8pm, then the first Weds in every month thereafter.

Cost is £3 per child. Places are limited, so please book in advance.

Autscape 2009: Effective Living (Greater London)
Includes workshops, leisure activities, social opportunities, and more, all specifically oriented to the needs and preferences of autistic people. Ian Jordan is one of the speakers.

Throughout August
Summer activities in Lancashire run by OJs Sensory Interaction Trust
Includes family fun days at Hillside school, swimming at Stoneyhurst College, trips out and best of all......two weeks of Holiday Club for children with an ASD! :yahoo:

NAS North Yorkshire Central Branch Autumn Autism Conference
The conference will cover a range of topics: ASCEND a parent’s support and strategies group (Dr Barry Wright, York CAMHS); Child Mental Health Campaign (Sarah Best, NAS Campaign Officer); Sensory Perceptual issues in autism (Olga Bogdashina); Autism and sexuality (Luke Beardon, The Autism Centre, Sheffield Hallam University); A personal Perspective of growing up with Asperger syndrome (Dean Beadle); Fulfilling and Rewarding Lives, The Adult Autism Strategy for England (Sarah Best, NAS Campaign Officer).
