ASDf chat, a place to laugh at the things that make most parents of NT kids cringe

Its hard to put into words what ASDF means to me, its like a family, theres always someone there to share you good and bad times....you can go away for months and everyone is pleased to see you on your return, its the one place i know that im not judged and there is always someone who can help !
ASDF has given me the best advice, support and friends i could ask for.

In short - no-one can support a parent of an ASD child as well as another parent! True empathy, understanding and lack of judgement are some of the qualities I value the most about the folks on here. As well as sheer love and determination to help our kids fylfil their potential as best as they can!

I read your article in Communications and I thought that sounds good I give it a try.

You lot have really helped me and have been very understanding. We are all dealing with autism everyday with all its ups and downs. I can never thank you enough. I think being on this forum has reduced a lot of my stress and anxiety for my children.

I finish with giving all of you a big hug :big hug:

ASDF helps me keep a little bit of sanity.

It's also an important part of my "social" life.

I recommend it to every parent of an child with ASD.

And I miss it when I go on holidays!

It's hard to put into words what ASDF means to me - A place to chat to people who actually know what you are talking about, through first hand experince not because they did a course or have children of their own, but because they actually understand.

Thank you so much for ASDF.

When we have needed advice and help this is the first port of call.

Knowing that there are other people having the same worries and strife just being able to of load without being criticized.

Making new friends.

Chat room is brilliant.

Being able to help other people.

I don't know how to even begin to put this into words - I've tried several times and had to give up. Where to start??

The bottom line is, I wouldn't be without this site, and the wonderful people who bring it to life every hour of every day.

Thanks to ASDf, my understanding of my daughter has grown and continues to grow the more I read about others, and share my own experiences. The confidence I have in myself as her Mum is also increasing as the support of everyone on here cushions me through the bad times, and raises me up high when things are going well.

I feel part of a genuine community who make caring for each other top priority.

The face-to-face meetings have brought me some truly lovely new friends, and with them, friends for my daughter too. I consider these generous, compassionate, inspirational people to be a part of my family.

Hand me the tissues, please, I'm feeling rather emotional :hugs2:

Somewhere I'm not afraid to say how hard it can be.

Somewhere I can tell people how I feel about being hit and hurt that I would be too embarrassed to tell anyone else.

Somewhere I can tell people about the little things that to me and my son are HUGE successes and they will understand why they are so great.

Somewhere where I can share ideas and experiences with others - to learn and to give something back.
