I'm feeling proactive and decisive and stuff, so I'm going to get things done.

The weekend in Durham Castle is off because they changed the venue. So let's start again - attached is a poll for city locations. Please vote on where you want the party to be, and when the voting closes we'll go with the winner, and start organising stuff from there.

We are looking at Saturday 6th April 2013.

Personally I like York because it is on the main train line and easy to get to from everywhere in the UK. It also has loads of good accommodation, everyone can have a nice day out in the city before/after the party, and we know from experience that they can accommodate ASDf at its best.

Voting will be closed on 8th July.

Can we vote for more than one place if we don't mind a couple of them? Or are we just voting for our favourite?

I think it's just one, but you can mention the second in the thread.

Not voted yet. Head is too shredded to think that far ahead

I have the power to edit - so if you want to suggest another location then let me know.

And yes, you can vote for more than one location. You couldn't when I started the poll, but I've turned the option on now.

I voted London and Birmingham simply because they are the closest to me. York, Leeds and Manchester are all 5 hours or more by car and the same or more by train but if it ends up in York, Leeds or Manchester I will hopefully still be able to come it will just take more planning.

I suppose to be fair we lived in Smethwick and worked in Small Heath - so our experience of the place wasn't exactly the best it could offer. If we had lived in Four Oaks and worked in Solihull, I'd have less of a downer on the place...

Don't mind where it is - have car, will travel (and can take passengers!).

yorks probably easiest for anyone coming down from Scotland as we can get a direct train, London just too far for me to travel too. Also I like York had a very happy holiday there few years ago.x

You went for the in depth experience then!

I grew up in Selly Park. Much more genteel.

While we're on this topic, what sort of night out do we want? Meal and entertainment all in the same place, or shifting from one place to another? What type of meal? What type of entertainment? (Or shouldn't I ask? )

We can all start seriously looking when the poll closes and a decision on location happens :)
