it means never having to face things alone. no matter what stuggles you're going through you've got a 3000 strong army to back you up.

Something different every day,

Advice - Any time I don't know what to do there is someone who does and is willing to help :)
company - I'm never alone no matter how dark life may seem
Humor - Always someone to put a smile on my face
Joy -Seeing things get better for my Friends its amazing :)
comfort - If i need a hug and some understanding I know where to come

ASDF is my life line, its the reason I have not given up and sunk into a black hole of misery

I only joined a few weeks ago, I am still waiting for an official diagnosis for my son and I stumbled across the site by accident, everyone has been so friendly and I have asked loads of question and read loads of posts about people who have been through all the feelings of denial, isolation and fear for the future that I have now. I know that anything I am worried about I can just come on here and ask, thank you all for being such a friendly bunch. H xx

Help in a time of need, friends in a time of loneliness, advice when life is so unpredictable. But the best feeling was to know I wasn't alone at any time of day or night.

Thanks for being there ASDF xx

I found ASDf through DCsMum, not sure how she found it, not sure thats what matters anyway.

What I can say though, and I suspect this probably goes for everyone here, is that after months or even years of

muddling through in the dark, various offers of "well the textbook says...." help, we finally end up here.

A site run by and for people who have hands on first person real life knowledge of what it is to live with ASD.

Like many the internet has become a large part of our social lives, and this is never more true than here.

It's not easy to put into words, it goes beyond a laugh, cry or rant either in the chatroom or on the boards.

It even goes deeper than having update information that is accurate and explanations on how it affects each of us be

it a DLA or education matter. I believe ASDf is the definative definition of "Community". It maybe that many of us

never have and maybe never will meet in flesh, but this minor detail in no way lessens the feeling that someone out

there really does know how you feel and is not just quoting a cliche. And despite many of us being no more than a

name on a forum board to each other, the feeling of support, concern and and at times joy is every bit as real as

if we were all stood in one room next to each other.
