I was browsing the internet and found this article from The Sunday Times on the work of Ipsea and SEN children, including those with ASD.

Thought you might find it interesting reading.

'As long as the duty to assess and describe the provision of special needs falls on the same body that also has to pay, there will be a fundamental conflict of interests. These two areas need separating, and that suggestion has been made to the government but it has fallen on deaf ears. The law is being broken as a matter of course - yet no one seems to want to challenge that situation.'

That sums it up.

It all sounds depressingly familiar.Lots of children are being badly let down and people don't always have the money or time to take the LEA on.

What can I say ... :fury :fury :fury

The mother of Henry and Freddie in the article has written a book called "Henrietta's Dream" about the boys. Haven't read it but saw her on ITV's This Morning a while back talking about it.

I've pinned this topic because I think that article should be compulsory reading.

There will be an exam at the end of term, and marks will be awarded for critical evaluation of..

school mode.

The original link doesn't work anymore. Shame, I wanted to send it to a friend.
