We can provide wine - no problem with that.

Goody.

Mentioned to dh.... he couldn't see why we wouldn't go as beer was mentioned. end of story.

Except of course the fact we need a sitter!

Am working on that.

Does this help?

http://www.laterooms...0918&n=1&rt=1-0

Edited: not really. I'll have a bit of a dig around to see what I can turn up. There are a couple of Travelodges in the city, so worth checking those out too.

Not sure what price range you're looking at. The Monkbar hotel has some single night rooms - if a good friend from here is coming, you could always share the room.

http://www.laterooms...hotel-york.aspx is cheap and within walking distance of the city centre. Needs to be 2 nights though, but sub-£100 for the two.

Thought I'd bump this

Still have a sitter so far so good.
Have declined a night out at a Ladies Night to go to a Beer Festival and not drink beer....
Wonder if we could get some kindly gents to serve wine (and beer if they must) dressed only in a bowtie and a lot of nerve.... so I don't feel as if I'm missing out.... :gareth

Oh that's good news. I won't begin to describe the wine available last year. :whistle

I haven't booked train tickets yet, but I have booked my mum and dad to come from Wales to babysit, and I've booked a space on a friend's sofabed...I'll be arriving in stupid boots or heels from my school mates 'ladies lunch' :wine in Manchester later on...please be kind to me! I may be worse for wear! :drunk

I've got a lot of nerve...

...but I only serve beer. :yahoo:

The question is this: do you really want to drink beer served by a half dressed 41-year-old with a prolapsed disc and a tragic lack of suntan?
