Good places to meet are any of the pubs on High Petergate - next to the Minster. The Hole in the Wall is the usual. And we usually book a table at the Assembly Rooms for a meal when ASDf is around. Big tables, good food at reasonable prices.

The beer festival is on the other side of town, so if you're planning on fancy shoes then taxis may be a good bet.

Is it very relaxed in terms of timings? ie shall I just call when I get to York? Or have you got a plan.... yet to book the train, so if you are all eating I may try to get there in time to join you. I may need some sustainence after my cocktails and lunch!

Nothing fixed yet. No point in being picky about timings and stuff - especially not when we are trying to relax.

If we deliberately don't plan, we can see who breaks down due to the sheer lack of structure. :devilred:

Righty ho. What's the crack?

I need to organise (sorry!) my sitter and arrange my days which are so far:

Mon - work for me then gym for youngest
Tue - work for me then footy trials for Oldest / footy training for Middl'un
Wed - work for me then gym (again!)
Thu - hair appt for me (got to look gorgeous to meet you all :whistle ),Sports Club for O, Cubs for M and Y, footy meeting for me and dh
Fri - Auditory screening appt for M, Footy Club Race Night for dh and me.
Sat - training for O and M, gym for Y and a night out with you lot for dh and me.
Sun - bugger all, except make a big birthday cake for dh whose birthday is on Monday. His present is a night out in York.... :gareth

So, as much as I'd like to be free and laidback, I've no time to do it!
Where do I need to be and when? And what do I need to remember?

In York on Saturday 18th September.

We're going to book a table at a half decent restaurant and then head to the beer festival afterwards. Wear shoes you are happy to walk through fields in.

We'll start by meeting here at 6pm, Saturday 18th September.

Why thank you kind Sir.

that's all the organising I need. The name of the pub and a time.

See you there.

Edited to say.... will you all be wearing a red carnation or a pink? Would hate to join the wrong group of people.

LOL - just go into the pub and look for the largest group of most badly behaved drunkards. Even if you get the wrong group (unlikely) you'll have a fantastic night out.

Can't imagine for one second I'll miss you lot when I turn up at 7.30... fields? WTF??? I may be able to scale down to my R-Soles cowboy boots, but REALLY...I am doing a Sex in the City (Manchester)-type lunch beforehand.

Newbies...DO NOT follow GOM into a field...you have been warned :glare:

PS I take it York does HAVE cabs???
